Bath, North East Somerset & Wiltshire
Since October 2023 it has become a legal requirement for anyone who is responsible for any building that is not a private home to have a competent person complete a Fire Risk Assessment.
The Assessment will identify fire risks and hazards in the premises, and where there are weaknesses remedial action is recommended.
The Responsible Person must keep a record of all findings from a Fire Risk Assessment and their fire safety arrangements, and make sure these are reviewed regularly.
While the “responsible person” within a business or any type of non-domestic building can carry out a Fire Risk Assessment, most companies and organisations prefer to employ a qualified professional assessor from a reputable provider like Bath & West Fire & Safety, who know how to identify fire risks and how to remove, reduce or mitigate them.
A Fire Risk Assessment forms the basis for a fire protection strategy that will protect your employees and your business assets. We can develop, implement and maintain a risk-appropriate fire strategy for you that will comply with all regulations.
There are various steps to completing a Fire Risk Assessment:
We don’t view a Fire Risk Assessment as a one-size-fits all tick-box exercise. We take our duty of safeguarding your premises from the devastating effects of a fire very seriously.
We have the expertise and specialist knowledge to assess any building for fire safety, helping you fulfil your responsibility to the occupants to keep them as safe as possible.
We can carry out Fire Risk Assessments in large, complex corporations, SMEs or small businesses. We have worked in schools, shops, restaurants, pubs, guest houses, care homes and student accommodation, making them safe and bringing peace of mind.
We’re particularly well-qualified to carry out Fire Risk Assessments in heritage buildings which tend to have their own unique risks and vulnerabilities, from hidden voids to old doors. We have an understanding and experience of assessing old buildings and usually undertake appropriate historical research to help us carry out a Fire Risk Assessment and develop a bespoke fire safety strategy for a listed or conservation property.
With over 20 years experience as a local family firm, we have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Fire Safety Trade. – We are your professional experts for all your fire and safety requirements.
